Google Chat Notifications
UptimeBeats allows you to set up unlimited Google Chat notifications across all subscription plans. Setting up Google Chat notifications using webhooks is quick and straightforward.
Prerequisites
- A Google Workspace account with permissions to manage integrations in the desired chat room.
Steps to Set Up Google Chat Notifications Using Webhooks
1. Create a Webhook in Google Chat

Open Google Chat and navigate to the chat room where you want to receive notifications.

Click on the Room options (chevron down) next to the room name in the top.

From the drop-down menu, select Apps and integrations.

In the Webhooks section, click on Add webhooks and enter details like below
- Name:
UptimeBeats
- Avatar URL:
https://public.uptimebeats.com/public/logo.svg
- Name:

Click Save to generate the webhook.

Copy the unique Webhook URL that appears in the dialog box. This URL will be used to send notifications from UptimeBeats to your Google Chat room.
2. Configure UptimeBeats with the Webhook URL

Log in to your UptimeBeats account.

Navigate to Integrations > Google Chat.

Paste the copied Webhook URL into the designated field.

Click on Add Webhook to save the configuration.

You are all set! UptimeBeats will now send up & down events to your Google Chat room.

We will send both up and down events to your Google Chat room and automatically resolve incidents when the service comes back online.
Troubleshooting
- Invalid Webhook URL: Double-check that the Webhook URL is correctly copied without extra spaces or typos.
- No Alerts Received: Ensure that the monitor in UptimeBeats is active and that the test alert was triggered successfully. Also, verify that the correct Google Chat room is selected.
